Gas Powered Pressure Washers

Gas powered pressure washers offer more power than electric pressure washers.

Gas powered pressure washers are a great way to tackle big cleaning projects outdoors.  They are useful for cleaning anything from automobiles to houses.  Gas pressure washers are also much more powerful than their electric counterparts.  With gas you’ll be able to get more pounds per square inch (PSI) to make even the most heavy duty jobs, much easier.  The main thing is finding the right pressure washer for you, and deciding on whether to purchase or rent a model.

Depending upon your needs, renting a gas powered pressure washer may be more economical than purchasing a unit.  If you only need one for a few tasks, and don’t plan on regularly using a pressure washer around your home, then owning one isn’t realistic.  But if you own a few cars or even boats, and use them regularly for outdoor activities, then a gas power washer is a good investment.  Chances are that your boats and cars are going to suffer some wear and ttear from mud, and the dirt around you.  To really clean this effectively, nothing works better than a pressure washer.

One of the first considerations you’ll have to take into account on a gas powered pressure washer you’re looking to use, is how much PSI you need.  For more general cleaning, like cars and even the side of a house, 2,000PSI and under should be well more than enough.  That will also guarantee that you don’t use too much pressure, and damage the surface of a car or your home.

For the bigger jobs, like removing set in dirt and grime, up to 3,000PSI will probably be more effective.  But don’t use that much pressure on a car, or you can damage the paint job.  Then for extreme scenarios involving grime and grease, or to strip paint, 4,000PSI is an ideal choice.  But that’s less about cleaning, as that much pressure will literally rip stains to shreds.

If you want to rent or purchase gas powered pressure washers, national retail giants like Lowes and Home Depot offer both rentals and for sale washers.  To purchase a good gas pressure washer, you’ll usually be looking at paying $400+ as well as the cost for gas to power the unit.  But you’ll have your pressure washer available for years, so long as you properly maintain and keep up with unit repairs.

Rental fees vary based upon your location and the options you choose.  There are alternatives to rent a pressure washer for many days, or just a few, and each offer a different price.  Usually you’ll still have to pay for the gas, but that’s no different if you owned your own gas powered pressure washer.

So if you only have a job that will take a few days, renting is best to save money.  But if you have vehicles that you use for a lot of outdoor activities like mud riding, gas powered pressure washers can be invaluable for cleaning your vehicle quickly and easily, in the long term.
